A permanent move to the Gold Coast appears a step closer after members voted in a 3 person ticket which has in the past expressed support for the concept. Ron Joseph, Mark & James Brayshaw were elected to the new positions.
The shareholders showed support once again by re electing Graham Duff and voting out Duffs rival Peter de Rauch.

The Roos have started the year brilliantly with an easy 51 point win over Collingwood at Carrara. A sellout crowd of mostly Kangaroo supporters saw the Roos start the year in winning style, to an appreciative Gold Coast crowd.

The Kangaroos have snared outstanding centre half back prospect Lachlan Hansen with its #3 pick in the 2006 Draft.
The Roos also topped up their list with future midfielder Gavin Urquart, Todd Goldstein (Ruck), forwards Lindsay Thomas, Ben Warren and Aaron Edwards.

18.11.06 Kangaroos forge deal with Broadbeach Cats
The North Melbourne Kangaroos have entered into a multimillion-dollar joint venture with local club the Broadbeach Cats, renewing hopes of a Gold Coast AFL team.
The deal is for a Kangaroos-Cats social facility near Gold Coast Stadium, costing about $25 million.
It will be seen as a significant blow to the chances of local powerhouse Southport Sharks one day holding a second AFL licence in Queensland.

31.10.06 Rookies Elevated
Ed Lower, Scott McMahon and Djaran Whyman were all elevated to the senior list for the 2007 season when the Roos submitted their first list lodgment to the AFL on Tuesday at 2pm.
Kangaroos General Manager – Football Operations Donald McDonald said it was terrific to see the three players push through onto the club’s primary list.
“This is great news for the three boys as they have worked hard in their time with the club,” McDonald said.

The obvious highlights of the Kangaroos 2007 Draw include the clubs 3 game deal at Carrara and a round 1 game against Collingwood at the MCG. They will travel a total of 8 times interstate.
